If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: “Hold on!”
Through wind and rain Trail Life Troop OR-1531 spent the day cleaning up St. Barabara Cemetery. The work itself – sawing and pruning, raking and hauling – would test the mettle of any boy, but the weather made it a contest of wills. Hot chocolate and donughts may have helped, but by the end of the day the cemetery looked much better.
The boys were reminded to pray for those buried at St. Barbara’s as well as for their families, but to remain joyful. They understood that we have hope – that is confidence in the God’s promises – of a joyful reunion. Several veteran gravesites were cleaned as well.
Neighbors and people in the community thanked the Trailmen for making the cemetery more beautiful
It was a great day of service to our community, the Church, and our country.
