One of the favorite lessons for every Woodland Trailman is the nutrition and fitness step. Why? Because they always get to make Trailmix and some exciting exercises. Although there are sweets within Trailmix, the Trailmen also learn what nutrition is and why it is important, which foods are good or bad for you, and what types of illnesses are associated with poor nutrition (accompanied with some scared healthy photos).
Troop OR-1531 takes full advantage of the nearby gym for this lesson as well. Through a practical application of a variety of exercises, they learn about different types of physical fitness and why they are important. They also warm up and cool down before heading back up to the classroom to make their well-balanced trail mix. #eatworthy
